Lot Essay

Blackmer: 'Perry travelled from 1739 to 1742 and amassed a great deal of information, particularly on Egypt; most of the plates illustrated Egyptian antiquities. The work also contains a detailed account of the Revolution of the Janissaries in 1730 with a portrait rebel leader Patrona.'
