The pursuit of happiness is the most miserable of all pursuits ... No real worker ever bothers about it: he is too busy living. Einstein has said "I am not happy, and don't want to be". And so say I'; together with a 1p. a.l.s. by MacGeochlin, dated New Year's Day, 1950, to Shaw 'Unhappy Man, You have had, and have, love; more than an ordinary share of it. You have had - and well may you enjoy longevity. You are assured of remembrance. These are the rewards of a King: and what more can be asked by a reasonable individual?...Consider your blessings!'.
