Whatever personal decision you may come to, you must believe that our motives are not such as they apparently are represented as being ... '; and a 1p. t.l.s. with manuscript additions, 46 Gordon Square, Bloomsbury, 20th April, 1923, maintaining that: 'Failing reason to the contrary, our arrangement should be that you give us your services.'
