A poem of 2,122 lines, printed by the Auchinleck Press from a unique 16th-century manuscript written by John Sloane, independently of Caxton's version (cf. Murray p. 548). The Auchinleck Press was situated at Auchinleck House, near Cumnock, Dumfrieshire, the seat of Sir Alexander Boswell, son of James Boswell, the biographer of Johnson.
