An aikuchi tanto, the blade hirazukuri, iorimune and almost musori, with bohi and traces of soebi remaining, the forging details obscured by shallow rust and scratches (point notched), ubu nakago with two mekugi-ana, possibly slightly machi-okuri, unsigned -- 10½in.long, probably 16th century, the silver-covered habaki engraved with a choji-toemon; the koshirae comprising a black ishimeji-nuri saya fitted with an iron kozuka decorated with a bell-cricket, the black thread-bound hilt with lacquered horn fuchi-kashira and hanashi menuki formed as bell-crickets and autumn plants, 17th century.
