A silver mounted meerschaum pipe bowl of large size, the stem with a gaping sea serpent rising from the waves, the lid with pierced laurel freize and naturalistic chased foliage surmounted by the figure of a silver plated sphynx, hallmarks for London 1883/4, maker's Charles Rawlings and William Summers -- 4½in. high, to top of lid, cased.
