A SILVER TEAPOT, maker's mark of Gorham, circa 1860, no. 140, tapering cylindrical with tucked in base on rim and four beaded bun supports, the lower body chased with lobes at intervals enclosed by matted strapwork and divided by triple reeds, engraved with script monogram, the shoulder flat chased with broad band of angled anthemion enclosed by scrolls within finely matted ground, with aprt foliate and beaded highly upraised spout, the multi scroll handle with bifurcated join and with stylized satry's mask, clenching a hinged ring it his mouth, with applied beaded rim, the hinged partly domed cover topped by openwork foliate cluster finial--10in. (25.4cm.) high, gross weight 39oz.
