A French 19th Century silver-gilt openwork sugar vase and cover on a foliate-decorated circular base with shell-capped lions' paw feet, the bowl itself supported by three dolphins and with a foliate rim and two applied helmeted caryatid scroll handles, the sides pierced and stamped with classical figures and with two narrow freizes of scrolling foliage, the slightly-domed detachable cover with cast classical figure finial, fitted with a blue glass liner - 10¼in., 25.25oz free.
