A Japanese kosode of brown silk damask, woven with saya patterns, resist dyed with white prunus flowers and wisteria amongst tatewaku undulating lines, ribbons and bundles, some details in-filled with tie dye patterns, others over embroidered in coloured silks and gilt threads, lined with crimson silk, with padded hem, late 19th century
