A mid-19th century black marble mantel clock, the tapering case with pyramidion surmount, the facade inlaid in red scagliola and engraved with gilt heightened pseudo hieroglyphics, the breakfront base centred by a bulls' head mask, flanked by seated sphinx -- 14in. (35½cm.) high.
