A Japanese gold lacquer two-tiered rectangular box and cover, decorated in hiramakie, takamakie and kirigane with open fans beside bamboo and folded paper, the sides with further bamboo beside a stream on a nashiji ground, gilt-bronze handles, the interior of nashiji (chips, cracks and old damages) -- 10½in.long, 18th century.
