A large Chinese archaistic-style bronze vase of square section with mythical beast head handles and flanges to each corner, inlaid in silver and gilt and decorated with bands of taotie above stiff leaves with similar decoration on key-pattern grounds, the neck with confronted mythical animals below a band of key-pattern -- 18¼in.high, archaic marks to the base, 17th/18th century.
