Lot Essay

Quo Vadis, 1951, directed by Mervyn Le Roy, starred Robert Taylor, Deborah Kerr, Peter Ustinov, Leo Genn and Patricia Laftan. This film was the greatest money-spinner for M.G.M. since Gone With The Wind, its world-wide rental exceeded $25 million. Filmed in Rome with 5,500 extras, it took six months to shoot and finally received six Academy Award nominations.
