Four cobweb valentines, three embossed paperlace, the other chromolithographed, two with silver or gilded details, one hand-coloured, two lifting to reveal hand-coloured lithographs , two lifting to reveal chromolithographs, three of amorous couples, one with manuscript verse 'Although this missive is sent in disguise/I trust it will not excite your suprise/For as I think its a good time/To be in search of a valentine...Pardon my boldness do I pray/When I inform you that you have had my heart alway/And since your age is equal to half of mine/I'll surely choose you for my valentine/I know you are thoughtless, vain and gay/But you wish to change some future day/And I will train you up to suit my mind/If you will be my valentine', another with its original envelope with the one cent stamp to 'Miss Florence B. North, Unadilla, N.Y', L. 8 x 5in., c. 1860; and another heart-shaped cobweb card. (4)
