Seven embossed and pierced paperlace valentine cards, three cameo embossed, all with silver or gilded details, five with chromolithographic details, one with hand-coloured cameo embossing with a gauze centre, the background of two angels holding garlands of flowers flying through a sunset sky executed in watercolour, the hand-written verse reads, 'As flowers are nourished by the evening dew/So my fond heart is ever charmed by you!', six cards laid down on paper, 7 x 7in., c. 1860-70.
