An embossed and pierced paperlace valentine card stamp marked Addenbrooke, the hand-coloured lithgraphed centre-piece depicting an amorous couple in a wooded glade with a church and Cupid's Temple of Love in the background, winged cherubs fly above them holding garlands of flowers, the encircling verse reads 'There is but one, and thou art he/Whose presence can endear/The shady walk, the glassy stream/And all that's pictured here/For me, how pure is the delight/Through such a scene to rove/With thee, companion of my steps/And partner of my love', 10 x 8in., c.1840-50.
