Three embossed and pierced paperlace valentine cards, all stamp marked Dobbs Kidd & Co., one depicting an ugly man with real hair applied with the hand-written words 'When shall I publish the Banns?', another applied with coloured silk flowers, the other with a gauze centre applied with figures of young girls, the chromolithographic background of a sea-scape with a departing sailor waving farewell to his loved one, the hand-written words below read A Signal of Affection', all mounted on card, 7¾ x 4¾in., c. 1860-65.
