A chromolithographed valentine card in three receding layers, the central layer of silver and gilded paperlace applied with chromolithographic details, framing a printed message 'An Offering of/True Love', the interior with printed verse 'I need not declare it/Already you know/I love you - I love you!/For joy, or for woe/For Joy! - If you love me/O, idol of mine/For woe! - if you leave me/In anguish to pine', 8 x 5in., c. 1898; together with its original embossed envelope addressed to 'Lloyd D. Fisher. Womelsdorf, Bucks Co., Pennsylvania', with one cent stamp postmarked 'Womeldorf. 1898. Feb 14. 10 A.M. P.A'.
