A hand-coloured lithograph, the border printed in rose with an elaborate paperlace design, the centre depicting a beautiful woman in rust coloured dress seated on a bench instructing Cupid, who holds a valentine, to deliver her missive to the castle in the distance, the verse reads 'Cupid to my lover bear/This letter with my vows sincere Inspire him with the Flame divine/And let him be my Valentine', watermarked 'Fellows 1836', 9½ x 8in., c. 1840-50.
