A hand-coloured lithographed valentine card by Paul & Co., Monmouth Ct., London, of a gentleman showing a young lady a statue of Cupid, the printed verse below reads 'Young Cupid who flutters so gaily above/Has feathered his arrow and barbed it with love/And bending his bow to the object addressed/The arrow responding has entered my breast And the wound it has opened, my Valentine true/Is bleeding hourly, fondly, and only for you', 9¼ x 7½in., c. 1840; and three other hand-coloured lithographed valentine cards, all with printed verses, c. 1820-45.
