An unusual late 19th Century twin cylinder enclosed crank high speed engine, believed to be a Willens patent model. Measurements overall - 16 x 14½in (40.7 x 36.8cm)
With two cylinders mounted one above the other 5¾in and 2 3/8in x 3in stroke, the larger brass bound and wood lagged, the other unlagged, cam and slide operated slide valve, the crankshaft supported in a housing with studded stuffing box and out bearing and disc flywheel, the whole mounted on a metal bed on mahogany plinth and finished in green and polished brightwork.
