A 19th century German three train oak and gilt bronze mounted bracket clock, the arched case surmounted by a figure of Mercury, flanked by caryatids, with foliate pierced sound frets to the sides, on scroll feet, the brass dial with silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring, the arch with subsiduary CHIME SILENT and SLOW FAST rings, within mask and foliate spandrels, the movement striking gongs -- 23in. high.
