A North Italian walnut, tulipwood-banded and marquetry commode, in the manner of Guiseppe Maggiolini with quarter-veneered banded rectangular top above a frieze drawer inlaid with classical bust roundels, foliate scrolls and mythical beasts, with two further drawers below inlaid sans traverse with roundels of classical figures, the sides with similar frieze and oval figural roundel, all flanked by foliate uprights with composition backgrounds on square tapering legs, the top badly damaged, probably Milanese, late 18th century - 46½in. (118cm.) wide, 22¾in. (58cm.) deep, 36in. (91½cm.) high.
