A Willaim IV shaped oblong inkstand die-stamped with a floral and foliate rococo border extending to the feet and moulded with two pen rests, the centre with a melon-fluted wafer pot, the cover formed from a shaped circular taperstick with rising scrolling foliate handle, detachable nozzle and detachable foliate-decorated conical snuffer, the two sides fitted with two cut-glass compressed inkwells, one damaged, each with an unmarked cover, Messrs Barnard, London 1837 - 10¾in., weight excluding inkwells and covers, 28.75oz. free.
