An extremely fine and very detailed 1:96 scale display model of R.M.S. 'Queen Mary' built 1930-34 by John Brown and Co. for the Cunard Steamship Co. and modelled by Bassett-Lowke -- 14½ x 63½in (37 x 161.2cm)
With masts, derricks, rigging, radio aerials and deck details including ancjors, winch, cleats, bollards, deck rails, companionways, deck winches, hatches, lockers, ventilators, wheelhouse with open bridge over, wing bridges with telegraphs, twenty-four life boats in davits and many other details. Finished in Cunard livery and mounted on foue plated columns. Mahogany glazed case and legend.
RMS Queen Mary, 81,237 tons completed her last New York-Southampton crossing 22.9.1967 and is now owned by the Walt Disney Co. (1988).
