A Qajar polychrome lacquer papier-mache rectangular qalamdan with rounded end and sliding tray painted and gilt with a kneeling sufi attendant in audience with the Shah accompanied by officials and attendants beneath silk awnings, the sides with equestrian figures hunting in a landscape of buildings and trees (minor lacquer pieces missing) -- 11in. long.
