A Qajar polychrome lacquered papier-mache qalamdan with rounded ends and sliding tray, the top painted and gilt with an oval medallion of a lady feeding a bird at an open window, flanked by cartouches of birds amongst dense flowers, the sides with oval portrait medallions flanked by further cartouches of birds and flowers -- 9in. long.
