A Persian coco-de-mer kashkul carved with two broad bands of calligraphy alternating with dense scrolling foliage, the underside with a tear-drop panel of peacocks amongst flowering tendrils, the opening aprture with inlaid turquoise and bird heads, a star-shaped panel to the top enclosing calligraphy, chains and brass fitting -- 11in. long.
