A Persian coco-de-mer kashkul carved in relief with calligraphic shaped cartouches above a broad band of scrolling flowers and foliage, the base with birds amongst flowering stems, the top of the kashkul carved with further birds and flowers, the aperture bordered by two birds heads and a shaped cartouche of religious invocations containing the statement 'Ali is the only knight', link chains and bronze fittings -- 13in. long.
