This collection was acquired during the 1890's, since when it has passed by inheritance and gift to the present owner.
A Boeotian terracotta figure of a young boy, standing with legs apart on a high oval base, looking downwards, wearing a tunic and a cloak draped around him, the drapery folded over his crooked right arm, his left hand held to his breast underneath his cloak, with short curly hair, oval vent -- 4 7/8in. (12.4cm.) high; and a terracotta figure of a naked boy, seated on a bench, with legs dangling over the front wearing a short cloak which has slipped down from his shoulders to leave his torso naked, his right hand to his breast, a fillet with a crossed disc in his curling hair --5 3/8in. (14.2cm.) high, both circa 3rd Century B.C. (2)
