Lot Essay

In the second half of 1962 ...Brian Epstein would shrewdly book top-line acts of the day to appear on Merseyside in order that the Beatles could be seen to support them on the bill, or maybe even upstage them. On June 21st, Bruce Channel took top billing following his Tope Ten hit 'Hey! Baby'....Channel's harmonica player, Delbert McLinton so inspired John Lennon that his influence would be clearly heard on nearly all of the Beatles' recorded output until 1964.
