A gilt and black-lacquer chest, with overall decoration including figures, pagodas and birds amongst foliage, the hinged rectangular top enclosing fitted interior above a pair of panelled doors, basically 19th century, incorporating 18th century panels, reconstructed -- 49½in. (126cm.) wide.
