Katabori, stained boxwood; an intricately carved group of three snails, two of them with their bodies emerging from their shells, the pale boxwood lightly stained and textured to bring out the contrasting surfaces, the snails' antennae undercut, the himotoshi formed by an opening between the three shells, signed with incised characters within a curved rectangular reserve on the largest snail Hideharu
