In the 1949-50 Glasgow Charity Cup, Celtic defeated Rangers 3-2.
Bobby Evans joined Celtic in 1944 and played with them until May 1960 when he was transferred to Chelsea for #12,500. During this period he played for Scotland at full International level on 48 occasions, and was Scotland's Player of the Year in 1953. During his successful time at Celtic he played in four Scottish Cup finals (winning twice) and two League Cup finals, winning on both occasions. He also helped Celtic to the League Championship in 1953-54
