The former, albumen print, 7 x 9 in., mounted on two-toned card, printed title, date, number 18 and credits Negative by J. Gardner. Positive by A. Gardner. Entered according to act of Congress, in the year 1866, by A. Gardner in the Clerk's office of the District Court of the District of Columbia on mount, matted; the latter, platinum print, 13½ x 10in. inscribed copyright Wilcox by 1900 in pencil on recto, mounted on card, two paper labels, one inscribed with photographer's credit and date perhaps about 1890 in ink, the other inscribed in pencil This photo came from the family home after the nieces death (Mrs. Pond) on mount; with another photograph.
