A late Victorian silver-mounted shaped oblong tortoiseshell dressing table box on openwork scrolling foliate feet, the domed hinged cover applied with Rococo Revival floral, foliate and C-scroll mounts, the centre applied with a vacant cartouche surrounded by cornucopiae and with cherub's mask surmount, a cherub holding floral garlands to either side, maker's initials H.A., London 1896, the mount engraved with a retailer's name: "Thornhill & Co. Lt., 144, New Bond St." - 6¼in.
