A rare Märklin steam-powered painted tinplate 54cm. Battleship 'Nürnberg, Cat. Ref. 5104D/54, illustrated in 1915 'Sonder Catalogue M', hull finished in brown, dark and light grey, tan planked deck and dark and light grey superstructure, with external detailing including twin funnels, two masts, fore and aft gun turrets, four side turrets, five deck guns, anchor winch and chain (anchor missing), the steam engine with slip-eccentric reverse, burner and spanner, and wave-painted tinplate four-wheeled stand, circa 1915 (overall F-G, two dents with paint loss to hull, one scorch mark, bow and stern flags, pennant and rigging missing) --21¼in. long
