An Edwardian satinwood lady's cylinder writing desk, by Maples, inlaid with an ebonised line and decorated with marquetry, the rectangular brass galleried top above cylinder front, centred by an urn and opening by means of the frieze drawer, the interior fitted with pen troughs and three short drawers, the hinged slope with musical trophy enclosing a lined writing surface, the frieze drawer on square tapering legs joined by an undertier, on spade feet, stamped Maple & Co. Ltd. -- 30in. (76cm.) wide, 36in. (91.5cm.) high, 20in. (51cm.) deep.
