A Fukugawa oviform vase painted in underglaze blue, coloured enamels and gilt with shaped panels of boys at play beside a flower cart and a bird perched on the branch of a prunus tree above peonies issuing from brushwood fences alternating with further panels of stylised lotus flowers and crysanthemums all on a hatch-pattern ground, the neck and foot with peonies and brocade balls tied with ribbons -- 12¼in. high.
