An English saltglazed stoneware bar cask of oval section, moulded with dark-glazed horizontal bands in imitation of metal barrel hoops on a light stoneware ground, a filling-hole to the upper surface with metal-mounted ceramic stopper, applied to the front with a vacant scroll supported by fruiting vine above the Royal Coat-of-Arms and a spiggot-hole, circa 1880, possibly Doulton, Lambeth -- 24in. high
