A 2pp. letter, dated Carlton House, March 12th, 1788, to Lord Cornwallis, regarding an order by the India Directory to have "Young Treves remov'd from his present situation ... feeling myself much interested in this young man's wellfare, I can not help just recalling to yr. mind I took ye liberty some time back of recommending him particularly to your protection, & only hope if his conduct has not been improper in his situation, you wd. not admit of his being an innocent sufferer," 4°.
