Lot Essay

Born in Barcelona, Pruna began exhibiting in 1921, with his first one-man show in 1924 and was awarded the Premio Isidro Nonell in 1936. During the Spanish Civil War he left Barcelona for Paris, but returned as soon as hostilities ended. Pruna is best known for his paintings of women.
