A 19th Century two-colour gold and baroque pearl desk seal modelled as a recumbent cat upon a cushion with laurel leaf border and tassel corners, the rectangular bloodstone matrix seal engraved with the crest, arms, and motto of Sanford of Somerset, later converted to a vinaigrette with simply pierced grill.
