Circa 1810, each stamped JACOB D.R. MESLEE, formerly but probably not originally with mounts to the seat-rail
Each with padded rectangular back and seat cushion upholstered in early 19th century green floral silk woven with yellow, the molded frame of the back above downswept arms on winged Egyptian caryatid supports, the bowed front seat-rail between anthemion-headed tapering square legs with paw feet, etched 1830438 twice each (2)

Lot Essay

François-Honoré-Georges Jacob-Desmalter (1770-1841), son of the reknown chair-maker Georges Jacob, is recorded using this stamp from 1803 to 1814 upon the death of his brother and partner, Georges II, in 1803.
