A French kingwood, crossbanded and parquetry bonheur du jour, the superstructure fitted with six drawers and central panelled door enclosed by a pair of tambour shutters, the lower part with a fall front frieze drawer enclosing a tooled leather-lined writing surface and three drawers, with a tambour slide below concealing four drawers and a compartment on square tapering legs and sabots, 19th century -- 28in. (72cm.) wide, 20in. (51cm.) deep, 44in. (111cm.) high.
