An early Victorian inverted pear-shaped coffee pot on scrolling foliate feet, chased with foliage and with a rising curved spout, leaf-capped scroll handle, moulded rim and domed hinged cover with acorn and oak leaf finial, one side engraved:"The Service of Plate, of which this Coffee Pot forms apart is presented to William Hey Dikes Esqe. on his leaving Hull, by a few friends who have highly appreciated his zealous and efficient labours, while resident amongst them and who deeply regret his removal from the Town, Hull Novr. 5th. 1841", Pearce & Burrows, London 1840 - 9¼in., 28.50oz.
