A full black-grained morocco 4° autograph album with gilt metal corner pieces and clasp, belonging to Sir Edmund and Lady Monson. Containing approximately 260 autographs of British and Continental royals and other eminent personages acquired during Monson's successive terms as Minister at Copenhagen, Athens, Brussels and as Ambassador at Vienna and Paris between the years 1887-1904. Autographs include those of Queen Victoria, her daughters the Princesses Beatrice and Helena and Helena's daughter, Victoria of Schleswig-Holstein, Edward VII and Alexandra as Prince and Princess of Wales, and their children, Albert Victor, George (later George V) and the Princesses Louise, Victoria and Maud. The Russian royal family is represented by Alexander III and the future Nicholas II and other members of the family. The Danish royal family is headed by Christian IX and Queen Louise, Frederick and Louise, Crown Prince and Princess of Denmark and other members of the family. Other autographs include those of Oscar, King of Sweden and Norway, George I and Queen Olga of Greece, Louis Battenberg, George Duke of Cambridge and Lord Kitchener.
