JAMES KEIR HARDIE (1856-1915) & GEORGE BERNARD SHAW (1856-1950) to CHRISTABEL PANKHURST (1880-1958)
Three authograph letters, signed, to Christabel Pankhurst, comprising a one-page note, by Shaw, from 10 Adelphi Terrace W.C., 26th November 1907, arranging a meeting; and two two-page letters, signed, by Keir Hardie, one from the House of Commons, February 17th 1910, the other undated with no address. In the former, Hardie apologises for not seeing her before he went to Scotland and predicts that: "the only thing to be done is to prepare for another General Election. Unless the situation changes completely between now and Monday another dissolution is a certainty." Informing her, in the next letter, of when the Ballot will be held and the result known, he says: "Wish I could have your anticipation of even the possibility of bill going through by mutual agreement."
