A four-page autograph letter, signed, from Buckingham Palace, August 16th 1922, to Sir George and Lady Holford, thanking them for a visit to Westonbirt: "All the arrangements you were made were so perfect in every way and the expeditions were the greatest success and very enjoyable;" a two-page autograph letter, signed, from Buckingham Palace, February 25th 1923, to Lady Holford, thanking her for her congratulations on: "two events which have given the King & me the greatest pleasure. Our future little daughter in law is quite charming, and the grandson is a duck;" a three-page autograph letter, signed, from Balmoral Castle, September 3rd 1926, to Lady Holford, commiserating with her on the death of her husband: "I am glad I had the opportunity of seeing your perfect happiness -- That this is now broken grieves me deeply;" a two-page autograph letter, signed, from Buckingham Palace, July 23rd 1932, to Lady Holford, thanking her for the pictures that she sent: "I wanted to keep them for myself but I foolishly showed tham to the Prince of Wales who wants them for his house at Sunninghill so of course I must give them to him being rather a weak mother!" all with the original autograph envelopes.
