Provenance
Victoria and her trousseau were offered as a raffle prize for the Red Cross during the 2nd World War in Faversham, Kent, and the original ticket is included in the lot. She was donated by Lady Alexander, the widow of a previous Mayor, and great benefactor of the town. The doll was exhibited in Abbots Craft, a furnishing shop in Preston Street, in a different outfit every day. She was won by the present owner's Aunt, whose father had been crushed to death while uncoupling railway carriages on Christmas Eve.
